The Bastard Swordsman- A Webcomic By Dan Glasl (Updated Mondays and Fridays)

	Faith Vanguard An orphan, Faith was raised by Richard Vanguard and schooled in the arts of war. She showed a tremendous aptitude in the broadsword style very early in her childhood, but soon she began to utilize a strange technique that Richard had never seen before. As she grew, Faith began to display a second side to her personality, a very dark and violent one. This came from the spirit of Makarono Yim, a long dead general who has followed Faith's bloodline for generations. He is able to possess Faith's body and control her actions, and she is powerless to resist. It has recently been revealed to Faith at the Istros Tournament that the strange markings on her arms are actually an incantation that may be the key to unlocking the prison which has held The Bastard Swordsman for 1000 years.
	Richard Vanguard Richard is a hero of the Deeper Wars. His valiant stand against the Eastern Kingdom's invading force at Miecia has become the stuff of legend. In a bold move, Richard's forces mounted a surprise charge right into the teeth of the enemy line as they were preparing to mount a siege against the high walled city of Miecia. So taken aback where the enemy forces, the majority broke ranks and began to flee. The fighting was brutal and Richard himself grievously injured and taken prisoner during the battle. But this tactic bought the Western Alliances enough time to assemble their armies and mount a counter attack. Richard was given up for dead as he was taken away by the retreating forces, but twenty years later he reappeared from the deserts. He has never spoken of what happened to him during his years of confinement, or of how he has escaped.
	Yuki Uki-Uno Yuki is the thirteenth child of twenty-seven and has suffered from extreme middle child syndrome. Her father is the chief advisor to the Grand Pooba of the Munie nation and has spent her young life trying to get him to notice her. Recently she has traveled to the mainland in search of a "Legendary Treasure" which she can bring home and garner the fame she so deeply craves. She joined up with Richard and Faith after she had awaken a giant monster while blasting for hidden treasure and proceeded to blast it in half with a Munie War Pistol which she had customized and affectionately called Mr. Snickerpuss.
	Makarono Yim A former general during the reign of the first emperor of Elysia, Yim was killed by his own son during the Betrayer Wars. Since that time, over 1000 years ago, Yim has followed the bloodline of Faith's ancestors, guiding and protecting them until he moves on to the next generation. His motivations for doing so are unknown, but it would appear that during his afterlife he has had more than one encounter with the Order of the Sylvani.
	Nydia Al-Kaliffa Mydria A half-daemon high priestess in the Sylvani Order, Nydia entered the Istros Tournament with the express purpose of confronting Faith and goading Yim into revealing himself. During their fight, Nydia was able to seal Yim away with a crystal which Faith wears around her neck. After their battle Nydia told Faith about the true purpose of the markings on her arms and pleaded for her to travel to Al-Muskat to meet with the Sylvani Council.
	Angelos, Lord of the Deep Angelos appeared out of the deserts 30 years ago, and, in a quick and very bloody campaign, he united all of the Eastern Kingdoms under his rule. The Western Alliances paid little attention to his actions until he began expanding his kingdom into lands bordering Macar. Angelos swiftly conquered the outlying colonies and brought the full brunt of his armies to the city of Miecia. Unable to maintain a naval presence that could rival that of Elis, Angelos was forced to move his armies overland. The resulting battle took such a toll on Angelos' forces that he had to abandon his campaign. It has been rumored that Angelos his been searching for the legendary Masamune, a sword that is said to be the key to ruling all of Elysia.
	Lady Morgan Angelos' chief advisor, This half-daemon has been a major power player in the Eastern Kingdoms for generations. Some have said it is her influence which allowed Angelos' meteoric rise to power. She has been leading the search for the Masamune, and has recently discovered the tomb of the Bastard Swordsman, where the sword is rumored to be imprisoned with the Swordsman himself.
	Reven A highly skilled assassin working for Angelos, Reven was blinded by a childhood disease and which drove him to study the forbidden spirit arts of the Shadow Door technique. Reven use the shadows around him to travel through or throw kuni knifes with expert precision. He also uses garrotte wires which can be used for communication over huge distances, strangle an opponent, or even dismember them.
	Raaf Raaf is a berserker, a member of an ancient tribe of the Dardainian Deserts who can channel their spirit energy to whip themselves into a blind fury in which they become unstoppable killing machines capable of amazing feats of strength with skin like iron.
	Titus Solon Captain of The Holy Lycian Empire's 13th Legion. Solon entered into the Istros tounament to test his skills against the best The Western Alliances had to offer. When the fortess of St. Eston was attacked Solon sacreficed himself to allow Faith, Richard and Yuki to escape.
	Augustus Cinna After the death of his cousin, Cinna inherited the thrown of Elis, but his reign was very short lived. He was killed by Reven and his head was taken back to the Lord of the Deep.
